Mini Scroll Painting - Blooming Cactus
These were done as small experiments along side much larger works I did (“Nocturne’s Daughter” etc) for for an installation. The base for each work is a square of antique wallpaper. From there the wallpaper was mounted to stiff fabric, folded and glued around the edges. You might find some imperfections and rippling due to the vintage materials and different mediums I was trying out. Symmetry is not my forte 😅 Most have a small string on the top so they could in theory be hung in many different ways. Due to the different sizes and weights though, some may be best shown and stored in a frame on the wall. A couple do not have string and you may want to remove your string later depending on how you choose to display the piece. On top of the wallpaper each painting has different elements. Some have paint and ink directly on the surface with addition to hand drawn and painted elements on different types of paper that were mounted to the surface.
As seen in last photo I found a nice to hang these is sort of like prayer flags, otherwise they can be hung in a variety of ways, or have the string trimmed and simply framed.
